EDGE Motorworks/ APEX Race Parts Cars Finish 1-2 And Take 3rd Overall In Sunday’s Enduro
March 11, Western Endurance Racing Championship, Infineon Raceway
Fresh from a strong 2nd place finish in the Saturday GTS race, EDGE Motorworks/ APEX Race Parts hotshoe Anthony Zwain and his co-driver, the infamous Donny Edwards, won the E0 class against a strong field of 7 competitors. The #89 S52-powered E30 performed flawlessly, despite being down on power due to a tired engine. A small fuel cell meant that the EDGE/ APEX team needed 3 stops to finish the race, this left them down a lap every time they stopped. The team decided they must run at “Sprint” pace to make up the difference against all the teams with large, enduro fuel cells, and managed to re-take the lead after every stop.
Coming in a close second, with a broken oil cooler and failing engine, was the Track Concierge/ EDGE Motorworks/ APEX Race Parts BMW M3 of Navid Kahangi and his co-driver Rylan Hazleton. A large fuel cell allowed for a fast driver change and a splash of fuel, helping them stay ahead of the competition.
EDGE/ APEX Driver JT Tamaye and Track Support Member Tim Taylor provided fuel and driver change help for both EDGE/ APEX Cars and the #30 Team Bimmerworld car driven by Scott Smith and Lance Boicelli.
A big “Congratulations” to our sponsored cars! Here are some more pics from the weekend!
